Blindsided

Somehow he always surprises me.

Something completely unexpected.

Yet, still showing how untrustworthy he is.

Where he expects me to take responsibility for his failings.

Competence only comes when I can leave him behind completely.

That will only happen once the kids are grown up

and hopefully moved out of the house.

Argument First thing in the Morning!

What a wonderful way to start the day.

Pulses racing.

Voices raised.

Trying to use logic

and losing badly.

Emotionally distraught

as the victor is clearly no one!

Waking up first helps.

So does coffee

and now to look up therapists.

Maybe they’ll help?

Or maybe desperation

makes one snap when defiance

is the response to reasonable requests.

Cuts Like a Knife

We all see the slice taken.

The damage culminating in the photos.

The hate and baseless lies fueling the actions.

So why do we let ourselves bleed?

Can we not go forward by blunting the weapons

or do we merely want to not leave our comfortable box?

Sooner or later,

the knife will come to you.

Will you use it?

Or be its victim.

Medicines

Some come in the form of a pill.

Others find themselves a liquid.

Disguised as a scent they waft.

Recently, they have been alternative.

Yet unsurprising they are still necessary.

The cycle of life will continue

and so will our need to cure ills.

Just remember, experts are here for a reason.

Listen to them.

Our doctors know our health better than some.

Find one you trust

and your faith will be rewarded.

Finding Forgiveness

Asking for

Receiving it

Two different things.

Other people

can do as they like

You can only control you.

Do you forgive yourself?

Can you forgive yourself?

If not, what actions would help you find the peace you wish for?

If you can not forgive yourself

can you forgive those who have wronged you?

Forgiveness

like apologies

so hard to give

yet necessary for peace of mind.

Apologize to yourself

it might make all the difference in your world.

Die without Regret

A phrase only a few can claim.

Regrets come in unexpected ways.

Most from decisions that you knew

should have

but you did not

make.

So instead of without regret

maybe we should say

I hope they died in peace with themselves

from choices they thought were made

to be good ones.

Or ones that they regret as bad

but sought to make amends for.

Philosophy calls for us to think

as logic follows.

Dreamers such as I merely want to dream.
