You are my sunshine
You shine so brightly
It makes my eyes hurt
This morning after
So can I ask you
to please shine less brightly
but don’t take my sunshine away!
You are my sunshine
You shine so brightly
It makes my eyes hurt
This morning after
So can I ask you
to please shine less brightly
but don’t take my sunshine away!
Both give me joy and comfort,
especially in this difficult year.
Both are amazing people
whom I love very much.
Both of whom are male.
One born a male
and the other knowing they were.
Yet both are people I call my girlfriend
because they love me back
and talk to me as a human
not a lump of baby making fat.
This is why I respect them,
because they respect me.
And the term girlfriend here means
one where they are a confidant,
not gossip mongers.
They are both my best friends!
This is not a classroom.
Real life means real problems.
Still, between budgeting
and appointments
little slips of paper are used.
Even office memos need notes.
I wonder what IRL means these days?
Eyes blurry
Light blinding
Feeling weary
TV grinding
News hurry
Heart yearning
Story’s journey
Anger burning
Great feeling
Sleep returning
Simple right.
No eating
or drinking
when at the computer.
What?
Oh the coffee?
Did not even notice it was in my hands when I sat down.
So automatically does it come with me.
Crackers are snacks.
Surely snacks are allowed.
Wait.
Is that a crumb stuck in the q key.
Sigh, alright.
No more food at the keyboard.
But I am keeping my coffee!
First step.
Walk to the door.
Second step.
Open the door.
Third step.
Walk through the door.
Four step. Optional.
Close the door behind you.
Right now
the first step is the hardest.
Waiting for the machine to stop.
What boat is this?
Coffee in hand step back.
Aroma’s waft gently nigh.
Accentuate the season of giving.
Strongly watch for a wild accent.
Twin peaked hilltops drift by
as the water cruises us into port.
Next will be a mountainous discovery
and only then will the world sigh in peace.
A pleasant way to wake up.
A very Merry Christmas
for those who celebrate it.
Hearing the Sirens of Police
running through the streets
on what is supposed to be a joyous day.
My heart goes out to those who must work this day
and for those who chose to work.
In these trying times
maybe someone will give solace to those in need.
I merely sip my coffee as I watch the cars race by.
It says it is Free.
Is that car park only for him?
He must have a big family.
Or a lot of cars?
Still, why should he get the whole thing to himself?
Other people need to have a place to park too!
Selfish Al Levent, I hope he opens it up to everyone
when the next game comes to the Coliseum.
It should be free for All Events!
Oh, wait.
Nevermind.
Not the flu
not the plague
or the current virus
merely an old fashioned cold.
One where
the nose plugs up
the throat gets dry
and sleep is your best friend.
Also throat lozenges.
