As opposed to other chore days

Begins and ends

with clothing in piles.

Ones that were sorted

are now folded.

Put them away?

That’s tomorrows chore.

They expect you to do

this task first.

Then when that is finished

you need to give them treats.

Or else they will sit in front of you

meowing, asking why they do not get them?

If you are going out the door

apologizing doesn’t help.

Though cuddles when you return home

still happens.

It is the right of every cat to expect certain things

at certain times of the day.

So don’t mess up their routine

because they will show their displeasure in unique ways.

Such as smelly “gifts” in shoes, hiding a sock

or simply making a mess of your counters (and therefore floors).

In the hot summer weather

when every other body part

is overheated

The feet are freezing.

Probably because

they are on the cold basement floor.

Quietly getting dressed.

Watching him breathe.

Hoping to let him rest.

While you go about your business for the morning.

The morning sings with the birds

As the flowers wake up.

Coffee in hand

I regret not using the bug spray.

Freedom is a concept.

A choice word

that allows us contentment.

Laws are made that restrict freedom.

Yet we live in a society

that touts freedom as the goal of living.

So if you buy one and get a second for free

you really only bought two at half price.

Deadly

Accurate

Truth

Evader.

Lies are told and yet we believe them.

And no

the truth isn’t always a lie

from your perspective.

Sometimes it is your perspective

that is wrong.

Driving along the highway.

The turn left takes you straight into the path

of the Semi driving on the other side.

The baby brother is in the backseat.

It is funny how the memory of my best friends loss

while we were children

Brings such dark thoughts out.

I wonder if her mother had the sun in her eyes

or if she had made a different, deliberate decision?

Newbs on the menu.

Greenhorns a’coming.

Fresh meat for the pickings.

Little brown mushrooms

Because they all look the same.

Beginners luck and give them time to grow.

You will be pleasantly surprised.

So quick

To point

That finger.

Yet more

Fingers point

Back at you.

Hold out

Your hand

and ask

“How can I help?”

It makes a world of difference.
