Ignoring Reality kicks you in the face.
Anxiety and stress plant you on your face.
Facing Reality can be hard with all the bruises.
The facts face off against your emotions.
The incongruity warps your facial features.
Aging faster and harsher you face time.
Face time does not go well.
Put it on Pasta?
Try it with hashbrowns?
Maybe with rice?
Or just go out
and get more crackers.
Experimenting is more fun!
You always know where they are.
Hidden in their room.
Tromping down the stairs.
Making messes in the kitchen.
Running through the house.
That noise announces
their arrival
and sometimes their departure.
It does however make life more interesting.
The purring commences
before I find the favorite spots.
The bridge of his nose.
Chin scritches.
Under his collar.
Overall petting
as his rumbling purrs
resonate into me.
