I step outside

only to return back in.

Safety.

Comfort.

Love and attention.

The outside world

has scary bullies.

Mean people

and more importantly

cats who fight mine!

Affectionate. When they chose.

Demanding. When they are hungry.

Smelly. After they have been fed.

Loud. When you are not fast enough.

Cuddly. When they sleep next to you.

Catty. Definitely and always.

A radio station unafraid to play anything.

Donor supported and loved for its eclectic nature.

The knowledge of the hosts outstanding.

The passion and desire for music easily displayed.

How could I not love my station.

Haters may hate but CKUA plays everything

…including folk

When did you become the enemy?

Why are you forsaking me?

I am already broken.

All I ask is that you help heal me.

What do I need to do to get you to like me again?

My once dearest friend Sleep!

Am I lost if I just go with the flow?

What about turning down the wrong street?

Where do I go to find help?

Do you understand me?

Yes this is my destination?

Did I arrive there?

I’m still in one piece.

Happy to have wandered.

Last night was an adventure.

Neighbours escalating minor transgressions.

This morning I am sore.

The cats demand then reject the love.

Work will begin soon enough.

Coffee is not my saviour anymore.

 

I don’t have enough money…

I need a new job…

I want to go on a vacation…

My house is messy…

My children are being disobedient…

My friends are ignoring me…

I whine too much..

and yet all of my problems are solvable.

Are yours?

The place where you will find solace.

Where you can relax and not be afraid.

Welcomed for who you are.

Free from torments and vulgarity.

Food, water and a sense of comfort.

Love unconditional.

I will give you all this.

My heart wishes for nothing more.

I can manage my life.

To teach my kids their worth.

To show how I am able to function.

Do the necessary things.

and still know how to have fun!

Snuggles and caresses.

Happy sounds resound

as breakfast is eaten.

My morning is complete

now that the cats are back in.
