The adventure is over
The excitement ebbs
Exhaustion settles in
Memories remain
Pictures taken
Only tell a portion
Of the story
And so life begins
At home once again
The adventure is over
The excitement ebbs
Exhaustion settles in
Memories remain
Pictures taken
Only tell a portion
Of the story
And so life begins
At home once again
The activity draining
The sights amazing
The walking tedious
The steps dangerous
But oh how I would not change
This experience for all the world
The first taste was divine
The flavours so simple
So delightful
Melding together so wantonly
Fresh has always been
The new Yum!
Sitting in a cafe
Waiting for food
The thrill of adventure
Begins to build
The plane awaits
Our destination is not to be missed
New things to learn
Foods to taste
Jet lag will not deter me
The gifts ripped open
Parents still sleepy
having been woken
by the excited ones!
Coffee in hand
they watch in mild joy
as the excitement builds.
As a bonus
they receive ugly
handmade… things
expressing as only
children can
the love felt
for the news toys.
Merry Christmas!
I never thought of myself as lucky.
My understanding of luck
was of things I could not control.
Now I know I am very lucky
to be blessed
with things I can not own!
The cheer can be false
but the true ones ring out.
The laughter and the smiles
and the ones who actually see you!
To enjoy the holidays
is a mission in itself.
One which the success of it
no one will know
until the completion of the feast
upon the special day!
The market is up.
The cards are ready.
Time for the broth.
Now I am steady.
What greeting shall I use?
Nope!
I think I’ll go to bed!
Once upon a time
people survived by their wits
Luck had a hand
but learning and observing was required.
Now a days people
merely survive.
What learning have You done lately?
It’s a turkey feather?
A child’s project.
It looks like a potato
that wants to swim.
It’s adorable.
But only to a parents eyes!
