Draw a bath
Call a friend
Take some deep breaths
Enjoy a cup of Tea
Take a walk
Read a book
Take a nap
Do a little dance
Write a poem
Draw a silly sketch
Love yourself
and be Mindful of others
Draw a bath
Call a friend
Take some deep breaths
Enjoy a cup of Tea
Take a walk
Read a book
Take a nap
Do a little dance
Write a poem
Draw a silly sketch
Love yourself
and be Mindful of others
The memory of campfire
Watching the fire blaze
Smelling the cooking hotdogs
Or roasted to blackness marshmallows.
The underlying smell of the woods surrounding us.
Pine, maple, birch and the elusive yet pungent scent of cedar.
To this day it reminds me of my youth
And the simpler times when I had no responsibilities.
They demand to be fed.
They refuse to clean up their messes.
They insist you play with them.
They talk back to you.
They invade your personal space.
They interfere with your sleep.
They make you crazy
And you love them for it.
Nothing beats noodles layered
with tomato sauced meat
flavoured with oregano
and mixed with onions and garlic.
Yet when the dish slips
and falls to the floor
supper is still needed
so broken up lasagna noodles
are added to the remaining meat sauce
allowed to simmer
and then we eat.
After I clean up the first mess.
Shower is done.
Laundry is started.
Groceries are still to be done.
Emails sent out.
Almost all the items from the list are complete.
Now for a break
and relax with company.
No time to clip them
Life is too busy and things are forgotten.
Time for bed
and in the morning new scratches
that are not from the cats.
Moths are just as beautiful as butterflies.
Dandelions are pretty just like roses.
Salad with dressing is also healthy.
A cat can be just as friendly as a dog.
No one needs to be seen as less worthwhile.
You are wonderful just like you are
and no one deserves to respect themselves more!
I told them it had to last
I told them to always leave me some
I told them
and they didn’t listen
Now I don’t even have a slorp or even a few droplets for my coffee
Seeing someone and enjoying their company
as opposed to wanting to help them even if it is unpleasant.
Ordering the same food every time
as opposed to getting that special treat.
Finding the right moment to watch that show
instead of finding something to watch.
Seeing two things you like and realizing you have a favorite.
Like a Rose and Lilacs.
Both smell pretty,
but you know which one you prefer.
It is good for the soul.
Bitter, yet sweet.
It combines the heavens and hells
and gives them to you to eat.
Pimples be damned
Today I really need this treat.
