Waiting for the machine to stop.

Twin peaked hilltops drift by
as the water cruises us into port.
Next will be a mountainous discovery
and only then will the world sigh in peace.
A pleasant way to wake up.

Hearing the Sirens of Police
running through the streets
on what is supposed to be a joyous day.
My heart goes out to those who must work this day
and for those who chose to work.
In these trying times
maybe someone will give solace to those in need.
I merely sip my coffee as I watch the cars race by.

Other people need to have a place to park too!

not the plague
or the current virus
merely an old fashioned cold.
One where
the nose plugs up
the throat gets dry
and sleep is your best friend.
Also throat lozenges.

Yet we hear them all the time.
Turn on the TV or streaming service
or whatever you use to watch things
and see the famous people utter
the most ridiculous things.
Then the day after like a bad hangover
we hear them say oops, my bad.
I do not even want to talk about the elected officials.
I said “Don’t get me started!”

The magpies are squawking.
The Raven is back.
My cat watches intently.
He wishes he could be outside.
Except the magpies don’t like him either.
So, instead he sits at the window and watches
as the magpies chase the Raven around.
I hope he is okay with this.
