Always a strange situation.
Emotions run deep.
Or numbed by the shock.
This day and age
things are stranger
when in person contacts
are limited.
Video showings are not the same.
But if that is the way to go
Then so be it.
Always a strange situation.
Emotions run deep.
Or numbed by the shock.
This day and age
things are stranger
when in person contacts
are limited.
Video showings are not the same.
But if that is the way to go
Then so be it.
Boundaries are hard to understand.
Only when things are crossed
do we realize what that boundary was.
Countries have boundaries.
Some clearer than others.
Businesses have boundaries.
Some break them all the time.
People have boundaries.
Some are strictly enforced
while others are completely ignored.
The hardest part
is learning what boundaries
you should respect
and which ones need to be enforced.
Limits are there for a reason.
Being a walked over rug
will not make anyone happy.
What should I do?
I don’t want to be doing nothing.
But starting something
and then being interrupted
is very annoying.
So what to do.
Other than just sit and wait anxiously.
Plans derailed.
Phone calls to make.
Alternatives to consider.
Then choose.
Work with the things given.
Set your new goals.
Then find out
you need to change them again.
I am thankful to be alive.
I am thankful for the science.
I am thankful for the medicine.
I am thankful for the chance to be free.
I am thankful for the choices available to me.
I am thankful for the family given to me.
I am thankful for the friends that surround me.
I am thankful for the patience and forgiveness needed.
I am thankful.
Yet I still don’t understand all that is happening.
For that I am thankful to still being able to learn and for my curiousity.
Cream can be clotted.
So can pipes.
Blood vessels are pipes through the body.
Headaches are painful.
So a headache removing pill is good.
Then it won’t grow.
This is important to know when family history
Is full of strokes and heart-attacks.
So no clotted cream for the moment.
Not until the pill kicks in.
She is right to fear fire.
She hides underneath the neighbours porch.
Trying to coax her out is hard
when the roofers are tarring the roof.
As soon as she hears the flame going
back underneath she darts.
Oh little meower, I feel your anxiety.
Time to let it go.
Clean it out.
Make sure the line keeps moving.
Sometimes it takes time.
Son knocking on the bathroom door
won’t make it go quicker.
A blast of frigid air
as the door to the outdoors is opened.
Frosty breath as the heat escapes your lungs.
A few shivers later
you regret letting the cat convince you
to go outside.
In a smoke filled room.
Sitting drinking coffee.
Underneath a beautiful night sky.
Watching fireflies.
Standing in a bakery line.
Deciding which cheese to buy.
Lying in bed almost asleep.
Imagining a different world.
Helping a neighbour bring in groceries.
Laughing and smiling.
Running away.
As a chance to finally fulfil life.
