Segregating the cats
so one can build his confidence back up.
If only the smaller one could not hear him playing.
Even if she is in a different room.
Her toys are hers.
All toys are hers.
Even if she doesn’t like playing with them.
Still, I try.
Hopefully one day she won’t be so jealous.
Time marches forward.
Many times we would like to go back.
But the only way to change to the future
is by acting in the now.
I do not always react in the now.
Most times it is days or weeks from now.
Covered in snow.
A boiled egg.
A friends handshake.
Cuddles from cats.
A tropical breeze.
Candles lit up.
My morning coffee.
The second cup…
or the third…
Pliable.
Elastic.
Mobile.
Fraught with stress.
Never ending frowns.
Comments are to be kept to themselves.
I do not want to have to think.
I do not want to have to process information.
I do not want to do much.
What I do not want does not mean much today.
I will think and process the words in front of me.
I just hope they make sense later.
What profession are you in?
Someone can be an amateur for years
and yet novices can be professionals.
The disparity between the job
and the experience is not always clearly defined.
I am a professional mom
but I would not call myself
a professional homemaker.
I simply am.
Inspired treats.
Like fried rice or
Szechuan beef.
If not for those who come to us
we would not know
some many wonderous things.
I did not break my leg.
My arms are fine.
Yet, I have my armour on
and am not feeling fine.
All I want is to be alright.
So I will say hello
and then goodnight.
When the book you are reading is so good
that you need more bookmarks!
That the new year is a better year.
That my finances are solvable.
That I can help my child move forward towards independence.
I can be optimistic about my future.
That I can break a few bad habits.
