When Time Stood Still

The crisp air cooled my fingertips.

I stopped underneath the yellow leafed tree.

My mind was racing unable to be contained.

That is when the tear drops started.

The clouds rolled in laughing at me.

As I clenched my hands in my pockets seeking warmth

I found myself cleansed by the falling rain.

On the walk home I found a lonely solace.

My heart will always love

even if I am not loved.

Summer vs Fall

We all complain.

The heat is too hot!

The weather is too nice to be stuck inside

especially if you are at work!

Then the mornings get cold.

The air begins to crisp up.

Layers are needing to be donned.

I don’t want the s n o w to come.

All complaining aside

the seasons continue to change

and the this is the life we live!

Time is Passing

Wet nose pressed against my face

Paws scratching at the blankets

Wake up human!

I’m hungry!

Give me love!

Play with me!

Oh yeah, Scritches!

I look at the clock and sigh.

Only 2 hours before my alarm would go off.

Except now I have a new furry one!

I turn of the manual alarm

then get up and go feed the cats.

The Weather is cooling

The droplets steadily come down

I listen as it soothes me

Today is a day for warm blankets

A cup of hot steeped tea

Balls of yarn to knit with

and the cats curled up beside me

This stinks

The smell of a cat lady.

It assaults the noses

of those who don’t understand.

The acceptance of the fur covered clothes.

The tired yet happy, serene expression.

The ability to spot a cute animal anywhere.

It is merely one more thing

the more extreme cat lover embraces,

Me, I need more Febreeze!
