When the day is already half over

when you finally get out of bed.

A shower would be nice?

Maybe some food to eat?

Somedays I think I can do this.

Somedays I merely exist.

Most days are a constant struggle

to get to those somedays where

Pick your battles

Place the boundaries

Let them know this is a line not to cross

When all else fails

do not allow the tantrum to win

Maybe then they will understand

that as the parent

your word is law

and although you respect them

A nutritious snack

well worthy of waking up for.

Oatmeal is filling

and pairs well with the fruit of choice.

So have a hearty meal

 

Money is spent

without thought or remorse.

The item on display

is now yours.

Why wait for the next sale

when it could be gone by then.

Plus your money

will also be gone.

Bills will have been paid

groceries bought

Rent will be due

so go get that wonderful tattoo

Start thinking you won

Begin to fantasize your achievements.

Arrogance will abound.

Failure is like a rock

It will drag you under

and smother all your breath.

So do not imagine winning.

Think about the progress

and learn to enjoy your journey.

Any being will fall.

It is those who pick themselves up again

Twilight measures the night

While dawn brings excess light

The darkness will hide

Even should the moonlight shine

The daytime dreams

Cannot compare to the nightmares screams

I lurk in the corners of your mind

A being so loathsome to find

There is nothing you can do

To stop being the fool

As I wander through and eat

To my gluttonous hearts beat

Unlimited expression

Discoveries unlocked

Pleasure unhinged

Timeless renewal

Gifted humanity

A world within

Meeting reality

Precautions were taken.

Proven not enough.

Half the work done

Destroyed.

The culprits sit beside their handiwork

Seemingly unaware.

As you piece back together

and find

you are missing at least one

of the puzzle pieces

that your cat

Good friends

Supper provided

Appreciation ensues

Games to play

Fun is had

Life is laughter
