Would you?

I would rather have them be a joy to teach in your classroom than in mine.

I would rather have a steady income than live paycheck to paycheck.

I would rather be thankful for my life than live drowning in regret.

I would rather play games than work.

Rather selfish wouldn’t you say?

Funny not Last

Laugh as much as you want.

Find the humour in anything.

Give yourself the freedom to be happy.

Then cry yourself to sleep.

Have the bad days

they help remind you of the good ones.

Be grateful for any day

and love the laughter you can enjoy.

Blindsided

Somehow he always surprises me.

Something completely unexpected.

Yet, still showing how untrustworthy he is.

Where he expects me to take responsibility for his failings.

Competence only comes when I can leave him behind completely.

That will only happen once the kids are grown up

and hopefully moved out of the house.

Argument First thing in the Morning!

What a wonderful way to start the day.

Pulses racing.

Voices raised.

Trying to use logic

and losing badly.

Emotionally distraught

as the victor is clearly no one!

Waking up first helps.

So does coffee

and now to look up therapists.

Maybe they’ll help?

Or maybe desperation

makes one snap when defiance

is the response to reasonable requests.

Cuts Like a Knife

We all see the slice taken.

The damage culminating in the photos.

The hate and baseless lies fueling the actions.

So why do we let ourselves bleed?

Can we not go forward by blunting the weapons

or do we merely want to not leave our comfortable box?

Sooner or later,

the knife will come to you.

Will you use it?

Or be its victim.
