When your Country Fails You.

You live in this society

For protection.

You are gathered around others

who do what is needed to survive.

You give back to your country

but remember

what you give to your country

is the trust that they will protect you.

The rules they decide on

should not make you live in fear.

That is the sign of a bad government.

There will always some who can not live by the rules.

Some rules are unjust.

Change needs to happen

and sometimes when your country fails you

you need to speak out.

Especially when the unjust laws are put into place.

Fight and be heard.

Someday your children

(biological or societial) will thank you.

Best is not better

I have three friends.

I value very highly.

I cannot claim anyone of them as my best friend.

One gives me blunt advice.

Another a shoulder to cry on.

The third one helps to inspire me.

All of them support me.

They all love me.

I do not have a best friend.

I have three.

I need to start writing more things down

I have a good memory.

I swear.

Just sometimes I forget where that important document is

(because I haven’t needed it for a while)

or can’t remember the next task I needed to do.

Lists and calendars are very important these days.

Without them

I probably wouldn’t get anything done.

Unless it is to tell you about some silly trivia tidbit

that has nothing to do with the situation at hand.
