The devil’s bargain

is an easy one to ignore.

Now a dragon’s hoard

is harder to explore.

Just don’t forget to use caution.

Their fines are exceptionally high.

You could lose everything you own.

When you finally wake up

to find that

your child pulled a fast one

on you in your sleep.

Smart and manipulative.

Tells me she went through

her morning routine

just so I wanting to go back to sleep

can allow her access to her ipad.

Grumpy this morning am I!

Things are moving fast.

Time waits for no one.

The sled flies down the hill.

The bump was waiting.

The rest of the way down is rolling away.

The snow filled day keeps us laughing

As we clean the snow out of our eyes.

Looking out at the drizzling rain

Sipping the warm steaming mug

Is an undeniable pleasure.

Whether it is tea or even hot chocolate

no one can deny the bliss experience

of being inside and not outside soaking wet.

Even better when there is a book and a blanket involved.

My last offspring in regular school.

Next week they begin

the last 3 years of regular learning.

Life moves fast.

Sometimes I should pay more attention.

Then I wouldn’t be caught so off guard.

Sooner or later

Bills have to be paid.

It is the price exacted

for living in today’s society.

If you have no money

the streets become your home.

Sometimes all the right things

that you do to get by

are simply not enough.

The route is easy.

It is the motivation

that is the hard thing to work on.

It is always in the back

of the mind as you sit

staring mindlessly

at the computer screen

watching inane animal videos.

For Gamers this means

Unlimited tries.

For a limited amount of time.

As a gamer this is exciting.

If I have the time to take advantage of that offer.

As a philosopher or pragmatist

I can not help but wonder

Whose life they are giving away for free?
