Contrary Soul

She says things

that you wish were true.

She does things

that disappoint you.

Her promises are not fake

but she forgets them

once she gets what she takes

from your selfless gem.

I wish I could trust her

but like her father before

I have learned not to put

faith in the “I promise..” store.

White Truck

Driving down the road.

Yes, the light is green.

The cars in front of me have stopped.

Looking in the rearview mirror.

A truck dodges the rear end of my vehicle.

Only to drive up onto the curb.

Thank you for not hitting me.

But honking your horn

does not deflect the blame here sir.

You were speeding and changed lanes

without thinking.

So, no damage was done.

Have a nice day!

White

Looks so pretty.

Tastes so pure.

Innocence contained.

Trail of the stars.

Unofficial colour of boredom.

Refracts the light.

Merely a colour.

One that is associated

with both good and bad.

No one colour is superior to another.

95 Theses

All Hallow’s Eve

was the night before Martin Luther

posted the condemnation

of Indulgences on the door

of the Catholic Church.

The practice of paying for sins

that had not happened yet

was his greatest despair.

He loved his God and merely wanted a Reformation

of the church he followed.

Yet like all great rebels

he knew

something had to be done.

So, instead of Reforming the Catholic Church

he ended up

helping Protestant churches to form.

That was one trick

he did not foresee.
