When the energy does not exist
and you still have to do things.
The children need breakfast
and the cats need to be feed.
Clothes take an eternity to put on
and not just your own.
Coffee, the universal saviour of the tired
has to work double hard this morning.
Once the kids are out the door and at their schools
all y ou wish to do is nap
but there are so many more things that need to be done!
So go on and move like a snail
I won’t judge you
because I am in the same boat
I have claimed her.
She has my scent.
She has soft cushions for me to lay upon
And sleep.
She feeds me
She plays with me.
She is mine
And if you come near her
While I am cuddling with her
I will swat you
Since hissing didn’t work!
It does not matter what you think before hand
Or even if you have help
There will always be a situation
where you are whoofully unprepared.
Mine was the everyday tasks
of feeding, clothing and napping
that was required.
For better or worse
Things do not remain constant.
People always believe in glory days
or we had it worst of all!
The younger generations can never compete
with an old persons self inflicted misery.
Yet we still survive.
Somehow.
Still if hope is lost
things remain static
for a time at least.
Reminders sometimes work
but internalization is best
The problem stems from memory
and stubbornness or refusal
So constant reminders
are the only way for a child
with ADHD
Now if only I could remind myself
What does it take to offend someone
when it concerns their religion?
Or even worse their traditions?
You may mean no offense
yet it will still be intended that way.
No one is perfect
and even mind readers
can not know how a person
will react if the words spoken
were actually said!
Emotions can sometimes be the hardest
things to actually read
and forgiveness
is never an emotion
it is always the act of mentally
releasing the guilt or anger.
That may be why it is so hard to do.
We all see them
We all look away
We pretend they do not exist
We attempt to forget them
We remember them later
and think
We should have helped them
Their situation is dire.
They fight valiantly.
Yet, it always comes down to luck.
Do the dice roll in their favour
Or do the cards remain stacked against them.
If they were real and not characters in a game
I would feel so much more horror
For the atrocities they have to go through.
To be the winner
Means first place
Or having outlasted
Everyone else.
But what if you get lonely?
If you realize that being a winner
Does not equate to being on top
But merely enjoying
The journey that you travel,
Then you will believe in yourself
And know the true value of others.
They are not your enemy
But
They are not always your friend.
Know the difference
And
Your life will be longer
Laughing.
When you both share the same interests
When you are open to new experiences
When you watch the same thing
And have the same reaction
Your bodies curled up beside each other
Drained and contented
After the passions just shared
It is a very good feeling!
