Saint Valentine
was a man
like any other.
Yet because he rebeled
against the Roman leaders
was heralded a Saint.
Signing letters and sending them
“from your Valentine”
in honor of his deeds
is where the trend began for this Holiday.
Yet,
why do we celebrate Martyrs?
I will celebrate my love for the living
and remember,
respect
and honor those before
by being alive
and living my life to the fullest.
Have a happy
and gracious day.
Give your love to those who truly need it.
