Listening to You

The tube is blaring

Distractions keep coming.

Free your mind.

Who can see the great words ring away.

My friends

I am floating and being held aloft

by the very essence of my soul.

My flesh is punctured by scars

but I will not be devoured.

Evils can only come to roost

when I ask them to stay.

Give yourself a hearing

and see who is listening to you!

Little Pleasures

Friends dropping by for coffee.

Playing games that are new!

A flower given just because.

A smile and a handshake for thank you.

The best is a hug from a long ago friend.

One just seen and reminiscing engaged!

Better yet is learning to forgive

even if forgetting is not an option!

Some things should be followed with a good-bye

while others are best with a See you Later!

Waste of Time

Brain Teasers

or Brain Pleasers?

Those little games on the phone…

The ones that take up time…

Require more attention than you realize…

And yet…

You can not help but play more…

and more…

of them because they are addicting!

Now…

If you’ll excuse me….

I have an app to download!

The Music Returns

The song echoes throughout the room.

it reverberates within the heart

As well as the ears.

The joy upon hearing such melodies

Causes wonderment and movement.

People dancing is one of the most beautiful sights seen.

The rhythm and beats means happiness and joy

And voices joined in for pleasure.

Whether the words are correct

Or merely hummed

Is irrelevant as long as the smile

Brings out the music in the heart we all need.

Expository Writing

When you tell the world

too much about yourself.

Exposing your flaws

and the deepest darkest secrets within.

What do you tell your partner

when they ask about your words.

The ones they read but never hear

spoken.

Tell them the truth

or never see them again?

Writers always expose themselves

and sometimes words hurt most of all.

Time For Regrets

Everyone has them.

I have tons.

How many do you have?

I am not proud of my regrets

but they are an accomplishment.

Many of them are for things I have I done

and learned my lessons from them.

The ones I truly regret are the ones

which I was too afraid to try for.

Fear is no friend of mine

but I have learned to listen to him

when my regrets start to talk to loud.

Then my comfort zone is expanded

because I push myself past my fears.

28 Million Dollars

The first thing I would do

is look into buying a house.

One that accommodated

everyone in my family.

Maybe a few friends.

I would have a large ensuite

where my spa days would heaven.

An indoor pool would be a must.

Being able to swim whenever I wanted

would be pure luxury.

I would dive in and swim the laps.

As I came up for air

I would open my eyes

and realize its all a dream.
