Electricity builds up in this dry cold air.

It causes weird sounds to play on the radio

when the dial is off.

Most kids nowadays know of it

through the video games they play.

My cats are introduced to it

each time they try to touch my nose with theirs.

Is the lemonade strong enough for you?

I made it myself.

The lemons were a bit old

so sorry for the extra bitterness.

I did not realize how many lemons I had.

Normally the lemonade is a little sweeter

but my sugar container is empty.

Would you like some more?

I have lots left over!

Its too bad I can’t turn them back into lemons.

Nobody wants my lemonade.

When the lyrics of the song make no sense

you just hum along

and hope for the best.

Even if your voice is clear and pleasant to hear

if the words are wrong

you get laughed at my dear.

So sing the song and be damned to the critics

music is love

and music is in us!

The dishes need to be cleaned.

The kids have their lunches packed.

Oh my goodness look at that dust bunny.

Check – vacuuming is on the list now.

Supper tonight consists of vegetables but what meat?

Do I have time to go to the mechanics today?

Huh, I have five minutes to myself.

Coffee – the eternal saviour of the busy moms.

Too bad it is already cold.

Feeling content when held in their arms.

The warmth of their breath as they kiss you.

Seeing their eyes first thing in the morning.

Knowing the arguments will come

and being ready to work them out.

A trust that defies understanding.

Being able to see them with their friends

and know they will always come back to you.

You set them free

and in doing so

set yourself free as well.

Jealousy and anger will be there

but so is the knowledge that they chose you!

To be able to rest is nice as you lay down.

Waking up can be a chore.

It is the smell of coffee that drives the senses

to gather the wits and start the day.

Yet sleep still beckons with its comfy blankets

cocooning you in warmth and softness.

To get up or not get up?

What shall be today’s answer?

I plan on writing about this.

I have an idea for a video.

I should cook this for supper tonight.

But all I want to do

is lie on the couch and watch movies.

I am a creative genius

who is merely tired.

Christmas Break.

Vacations.

Easter.

Spring Break.

Any Long Weekend.

Interruptions from the schedule. 

Time to recharge.

Also sleep times change.

Bleary eyed in the morning.

Coffee not strong enough.

Crazy excitement over

and tiredness reigns.

Times become relevant again

in a deadline kind of way

and all I can think

is how good it is to be back!

Local means a country not just the neighbourhood.

Inflation keeps on rising as you struggle to increase your wages.

People look for the bitterness not the hope.

You can watch a show televised live from the other side of the globe.

Weather that affects one region ultimately affects them all.

The oceans are deep but can still be polluted.

The leaders say they listen but have their own ultimate goals.

Our children have to be stronger than we ever were,

Our world does love us but will not tolerate tantrums for long.

I can not make him happy.

No matter hard I try.

Time and time again I find myself beset with his problems.

His moods.

His anger.

I will be blamed for the problems

and I know I should not feel guilty

for His failings.

Still I find myself empathizing

and wanting to help.

I should always remind myself

He does not want to commit.

He does not want to work things out.

Not with me.

Not ever.

So I sit here and cry

wondering how much more will it take before I say good-bye.
