Organized

It is useful and desired.

Chaos is beautiful

but not always welcome

unless treated as artistic expression.

When life allows you to function

at peak performance

staying on top of the chaos

can be empowering.

Yet sadly, too many fall victim

to the reacting to pressure

and not enough of the thwarting its dangers.

So, beware my friends of the temptation

chaos lures you with

or you’ll end up like me.

Desperately hoping for miracles

and not finding any.

In my Arms

She is curled up

watching as others move by

doing tasks and things

she doesn’t understand.

She is making things warm

and more difficult for me to type

since I only have one hand free

while the other holds

the small cat to my chest.

As things settle down

I wonder if she’ll fall asleep

because both of us

right now

are content.

Working Day

Time to start moving

There are things to do

Expectations to be met

Plans to execute

People to talk to

and yet my bed keeps calling

asking if it could spend more time with me

Someday I will answer its call

but not today

My children need me!

Waking Up

The ritual has been started

The cats have been fed

Coffee has been brewed

and sipped slowly

The evil snow blowers

scare the cats

even though they can not get inside.

Other than breakfast

made and eaten

the ritual

is almost complete.
