The brain tricks itself

or backtracks and causes doubts to appear.

Where did I place my glasses?

Did I take my medication?

When was the last time I looked at my calendar?

Can I get away with not showering? Again?

Nope.

Ok, I did just take a shower right?

Didn’t I already cook supper?

I know I did last night.

Wait, that was two nights ago.

Maybe that is why the kids keep saying they are hungry.

Just kidding.

They are old enough to raid the fridge if they are hungry.

Now about that shower….

When was the last time I had one?

A thin before the thick.

A trouble of ganders

before the geese get back.

Control of the ozone

fraught between the borders.

Where is the journey

as we all melt to thin.

Sins are made

and overcome

when thin is the melody.

Nowadays I receive a phone call

where the number is local

only to find it is an automated

demand to give money to a false government site.

Then later I receive a phone call from a lady

who claims I called her.

I check my phone.

Nope no accidental pocket calls.

Ahh, scammers

you have taken my number from me!

Damn you.

Damn you all!

I found it.

In myself.

No one can love me

like I can love myself.

Yet, even then

I want more.

Don’t we always.

So should it happen

I’ll be here.

Snooty rich people

talk about the plebes

as if they were amusing monkeys.

Our common tastes

and pleasures

are not something they can comprehend,

Yet, the joke is on them.

We laugh at them

more often

they know.

It is incessant.

Relentless.

Non-stop

unless someone

presses the button!

The more worried I am

the less productive I am.

which scares me

in a weird way.

my special needs children

I have a lot on my plate.

Yet, he is needing his friend.

I can not help myself

as well as everyone else who needs me.

When I burn out

after eating her ice cream

and not having washed her hands first!

It can be a problem solver

if you do not have the time

energy or the knowledge.

Information can be found

when money is present

but so can misinformation

from people

who do not

have your best interests at heart.

Also penny pinching

only makes you pinched

and worried about what might happen.

Scrimping and saving can be fun

when you get the reward.

But what reward can money buy

that tops friends and family?

 

 

No one is given time

To be a good person

When colour is blind.

See your friends

And know their hearts.

For as was said

Belonging to a group

That excludes specifics

Makes you implicit in their sins.
