Ethics in a Pandemic

Family is important.

Seeing and hugging members is crucial.

Yet a hug could be fatal.

Wearing a mask is vital to limit the spread.

Yet you can not eat properly with one on.

So where do you draw the line?

Go?

or tell everyone

sorry, maybe next year?

If they do not think the precautions are worth it

I would suggest seeing them through the computer only.

Healthy Minds

It begins with a visit for the soul.

A good friend who sits apart

and though a hug is needed

we value our friendship

and do not.

Talking and laughing

we share our weeks miseries

or the joys that gave us joy.

And next week

I have something to look forward to

because my heart wants to see my friend again!

It is good for my soul.

Debacle Central

When the world turns a blind eye to the bullying

and finds itself dealing with the problem children.

Toddlers grow up acting as like the ones who raise them.

Others fight and lose the battle of self-esteem.

Though now more than ever we see the destruction caused

by the hatred and the lies of those who try to poison the youth.

It will never end.

Still there is hope that someday we can make the bullying harder to do

and allow the children to see each other equally.

Health Record

Doctor’s appointments.

Testing for various oddities.

What disease flashes through the mind.

Hypochondriac tendencies run high.

So does denial and the possibility of no longer having a normal life.

Who is going to help?

Or am I alone in this

as we all are when truly said and done.

Until then, work towards a better future

and maybe someday the world will be better.

Online Security

The trolls have returned.

They are many.

Many times annoying and rude.

How to protect yourself is intimidating.

Who shall be your shining knight

and slice their blade to cut off the troll’s heads?

Protecting yourself these days

usually means taking up the sword yourself.

Then if you can handle the weight

figure out how to swing it.

No troll should be able to bother you,

yet somehow, one always lurks around the next corner.

What I need

People tell me I need to get a job.

I need to have a roof over my head.

My children need to be disciplined more severely.

How about not wasting any food?

Recycling or reusing is a good idea.

What I truly need is therapy.

A chance to heal and get better

so I can get a job, feed my kids,

get them to school on time, have the energy to be a good citizen

and most of all love myself

so that I don’t end up being a needy waste of time.
