When work needs work

Looking for a job requires energy

and commitment.

Going to interviews, even on line

requires patience and confidence.

Acquiring the longed for paycheck

takes diligence and determination.

What happens

when you have nothing to give?

You work on yourself

before you can work for others.

Aftermath

How do you talk to them?

What response is appropriate?

People have been hurt.

The victim most of all.

We all are victims of this crime.

Still the one hurting the most

is the one most will blame.

Dumb down, gullible, idiot child.

Disabilities do not define him

yet that is still how everyone sees him.

Drama and Trust

Jewelry taken.

Sentimental only.

Fear overrides logic.

Police visited.

Threats from the scammer.

Potential to lose everything.

For his sake I will stay.

He was not in his right mind.

Forgiveness is easy to give.

Loss of trust?

Situation dramatic.

Family is everything.

Money is not.

Life will go on.

The Waiting Game

To be or not to be

Patient.

That is the question

which makes the game so questionable?

When life gives us lemons

whose lemonade do you wish to drink?

The bitter sour kind

or the one sweetened with kindness and respect?

We all get angry

and have the right to do so.

Just remember

that not everyone is deserving of it.

I Pray

I pray for the day

When you realize

Your deep hatred

Has ruined your peace.

I pray for the day

When you see past your eyes

And find the human

Underneath your derision.

I pray for the day

When you look in the mirror

And know the pain etched

In the lines in your face

Were caused by you.

I pray for the day

When you put down your cross

And decide to stop

Nailing me to mine.

I pray for the day

When you and I can talk

And you know who I am

Not who you think I should be.

I pray for the day

And sometimes

My prayers are answered.
