Cheese in my sandwiches

unless it is melted.

Of course.

Fries without gravy

or mayo and salt.

Snorkeling in the ocean

unless it is on vacation.

Cleaning my house,

though for visitors?

It depends on if they are related or not.

Today is the day.

It shall overflow.

The filter will break.

The drip spout will be clogged.

All before you remember

that important task

you were going to do after

you made your coffee.

Branding tries to associate the name

the logo

a phrase

to a product.

But what happens when we label humans?

Are we judging them fairly?

Or are we associating them with a bias

unwarranted?

If I said,

“I am Autistic!”

what would you think of me now?

Needs to be done.

Some is easy to understand.

Others confuse everyone.

The worst is when

it requires more paperwork

to be filled out

before you can complete it.

Sigh! Where’s my pen?

She stares at me.

Rubbing against the object of her desire.

Either the brush

or my keyboard

trying to get my attention.

When she accidentally

picks up the laser pointer

in her claws

she will turn to me

and stare as if asking

“Make the red dot come out and play!”

She knows.

My cat definitely knows

who and what is needed

in order to play her favorite game.

He ventured outside.

His duty called.

I am left behind.

Hoping he doesn’t fall.

My joy will be

When he returns

Cold but safe

And I can see his face again.

Winter weather finds us bundled up.

Traveling around our daily lives.

A wrong step can lead to disaster

Or to a place that is wonderful to view.

So the ice that plagues the streets

And the sidewalks need to be sanded.

If anyone is going around today

Put your best foot forward

And see what winter has in store for you.

Since schools refuse to acknowledge

mental health issues

for the children they teach

Why not start a new trend?

School boards should institute

Sick day absentees that

include mental health

or at least realize that sometimes

parents keep their children home

for the sake of the child.

Not every excuse is the same.

Physically they may be fine

but mentally they have no energy

to get things done.

I like to play games.

They are so much fun.

Interacting with others

or solo brain teasers.

But not all games are equal.

Still I wonder

When will it arrive?

When you can not control

when it should happen.

Patience is a virtue

yet it is so hard to implement.

So wait and see

if what is supposed to happen –

will happen?
