When the world denies your existence
who is the one to value you?
There are always the definitions
that society uses
of material goods,
status,
and fame.
But these are fleeting
and greatness
changes with each generation.
The look in the eyes of stranger
when you helped them
may also seem fleeting
but that is the true measure of your soul.
There are no kind people anymore.
Everyone is selfish
Mean and cruel.
Self absorbed by their own interests.
Only wanting to be satisfied
Happy with getting it all!
Winning the race of money.
And no one looks at the flowers
unless they decorate the casket.
A house should be built on a stone
but when all there is nothing but sand
you learn to build a mobile home.
Circumstances can change rapidly
adaptation is the key to survival.
Who is the one that is your stone?
A person?
A God?
or a thing?
An object that defines you?
This house is built on neither stone
nor sand
and it does not belong to me!
When one detail is forgotten.
Sometimes important ones.
Sometimes just embarrassing.
Little things that mean you have to work
twice as hard to make up for.
In the end you always say
“What, wait Oh no I forgot your birthday!”
Any request made is met with a screech.
Questions are answered with a hiss.
Nagging only produces flight.
A chore is the ultimate enemy
meant only for destruction.
The few words this beast utters
is monosyllabic at best.
The novelty has worn off.
Please revert back to my child?
Eventually I’ll have the time.
Eventually I’ll have the money.
Eventually I’ll be prettier.
Eventually will never come.
Eventually I’ll wear that dress.
Eventually I’ll climb a mountain.
Eventually I’ll live in paradise.
Eventually comes at a price.
For eventually is a dream
and dreams fade.
Today is a much better day!
The raspy tongue
licks my face.
The stench of rotten
carcass hits my nostrils
as my cat drops
its latest kill
on my chest.
Spring had arrived
and with it bugs!
Things that move
made for a kittens attention span
and appetite.
To keep them safe
from the awful bugs
they scratch the screens
looking for ways to attack
this insidious enemy!
Any ant that dares to cross the threshold
of this castle will be Played With!
Breathing Room.
Stress mounted too high!
Kids interrupting.
Anxiety becoming a problem.
Life is short
and time for self care is needed.
A nice relaxing bath
now that my obligation has been cancelled.
She devours the worthy
Only taking the best.
Forever eating to satisfy
her undying appetites.
The void is not friendly
nor is it a she.
The Goddess lives
so we may die.
Is this true?
I do not really care!
