Expectations are high.
The desire to get it all done.
Projects unfinished.
Conversations that leave you unfulfilled.
The workload piles higher.
Time is against you.
So realize disappointment is not your enemy.
It is a reminder to look at what you have accomplished
and be proud.
Human nature is not perfect.
Humans never will be.
The crazy desire to reach it
is what makes us human
and disappointment is merely
stepping stones on the way.
Time to tell the story
of a woman and her journey
through a difficult phase.
Truth be told she still journeys today.
No one will understand
as she stops and stares
at a graffiti covered wall.
The nuances of colour rage
as she tries to see past the lines
to the original forever changed wall.
She sees herself in this art
and yet nothing can compare to her soul bled eyes.
The synapses are not firing quickly.
Reaction time has been halved.
Coffee substitute not enough.
Sleep deprivation has taken control.
Park the vehicle before getting out.
Yes,
memory must take on a more vital role!
Home returned to and safety has been acquired.
Return to bed!
Function must be returned to proper levels!
Memory can be a falsehood.
The memory you choose to cherish
can in truth be a bitter lie.
Reality will shatter the vision
and you will see what a fool you have been.
Yet memory can be a hope.
A decision to remember the good
so that things will get better
and reality becomes a place
where your memory would be only
a memory.
My Not Boyfriend
who I hang out with
every weekend.
The one who I call
when things go bad.
My companion who holds me
when I cry as my heart breaks.
The arguments that help us
remember what the other means
to the one arguing
because the talk afterwards
means so much more.
We love each other.
But he is not my boyfriend.
He is my friend
and I truly believe
my soul mate.
Excitement starts to build
As soon as it is announced.
When will it come out?
What will be happening?
The movie poster is up already!
Now the next phase of suspension begins!
The hat looks fabulous.
So does the store.
An upscale market
is what they are looking for.
Too bad all my money
is just change from the floor.
It is always the little things.
The constant reminder of how they cherish you.
They are always being understanding,
empathetic and actually listen to you.
If only they would love you
and not just like you.
That is up to them to decide.
The words may never come
but sometimes actions speak louder than words.
