When I Awake

To cars crashing.

To the body demanding fluid relief.

To children crying.

To eyes that refuse to weep.

To burning oxygen.

To lungs clouded and diseased.

To buildings collapsing.

To hunger that never weakens it grip.

To a world of pain.

To the morning light which shines a new dawn.

To anything

that says I’m still alive.

Get over it

A simple phrase.

One packed with meaning.

These days gaslighting the victims.

Trauma induced is not easily dismissible

Unless you are non emphatic.

Healing takes time

And trauma compounds.

Don’t mock those who have been hurt.

It only proves how selfish you really are.

The Question in his Eyes

You will let me out right?

Human.

Biped?

I need to go outside!

Yay, the door is being opened!

Wait!

Why is it so cold?

All that white stuff… nope!

So biped let me out?

Have you changed the weather yet?

Sigh, nope.

Human you have disappointed me.

Why did you not change the weather?

When work needs work

Looking for a job requires energy

and commitment.

Going to interviews, even on line

requires patience and confidence.

Acquiring the longed for paycheck

takes diligence and determination.

What happens

when you have nothing to give?

You work on yourself

before you can work for others.

Aftermath

How do you talk to them?

What response is appropriate?

People have been hurt.

The victim most of all.

We all are victims of this crime.

Still the one hurting the most

is the one most will blame.

Dumb down, gullible, idiot child.

Disabilities do not define him

yet that is still how everyone sees him.
