Eulogy for Addy

In the five years I have known her

She was reliable and always up for an adventure.

She helped me with my independence

and gave me options that I valued greatly.

She will be missed

and I will remember her fondly

but really

she was a just an (Ad)Venture van

and it is time to move on.

So Cute

Curled up beside me

Or lying by my feet

Their faces so serene

I love to watch them sleep.

The poses they find

I cannot explain

As I watch them

stretch or curl like furry twine.

Still I watch them groom themselves

And feel blessed to be with them

And to have them in my life.

Sympathy

To watch someone

Who is in so much pain

And unable to do anything

Breaks the heart.

The desire to help

Is strong.

So much empathy

Wasted when rebuffed.

So sympathy is offered instead.

That at least is accepted.

Chocolate Addiction

Cravings won’t stop.

Something sweet is desired.

Not just any sweet will do.

Chocolate and its delectable taste.

Unfortunately,

The only type left in the house

is the unsweetened kind

used for baking.

Desperation leads to regret

after taking a bite.

Finding the good news

Pick yourself up and move on.

When you fail – learn from it.

See the beauty in the world.

Keep a positive light shining.

Pet your black cat as it walks in front of you.

See the results and drown your sorrows.

Never let them see you sweat – it makes you smell bad.

Yet all it takes is a friends smile

and suddenly the world is fresh again.

Silly Decisions

Late night

Sleeping in

Watching videos

Ignoring the clock

Forgetting appointments

Getting little sleep

Napping

Trying a new recipe

Forgetting a step

Allowing yourself to laugh

Some decisions are better than others

But some are just pure fun
