Like the song says
Things will change
Her cold maybe gone
If I hold on
For one more day.
Or more likely
she’ll still be coughing
and told to stay home from school.
Like the song says
Things will change
Her cold maybe gone
If I hold on
For one more day.
Or more likely
she’ll still be coughing
and told to stay home from school.
All Hallow’s Eve
was the night before Martin Luther
posted the condemnation
of Indulgences on the door
of the Catholic Church.
The practice of paying for sins
that had not happened yet
was his greatest despair.
He loved his God and merely wanted a Reformation
of the church he followed.
Yet like all great rebels
he knew
something had to be done.
So, instead of Reforming the Catholic Church
he ended up
helping Protestant churches to form.
That was one trick
he did not foresee.
As a child
staying at a friend’s house
was magical.
As an adult
it is only a hassle
to make sure everyone
has what they need.
Especially the child
who wants to come home
in the middle of the night.
The hand is painted red.
Skeletal.
Signed by unknown.
I keep thinking I should take a picture
every time I drive by.
But it is Graffiti under a bridge.
When can I stop and interrupt traffic?
Instead I will admire the art
while it lasts.
Mimicking what has come before
Can be worthwhile.
But don’t expect to end up
exactly where they had lead before.
Your journey is unique
and no one can change that.
So take what you can from the ones
who blazed the trail before you.
Understand you will not be them
but love what they have taught you.
Crazy train.
Rails.
Doghouse blues.
Wagon.
things that could be bad for you
and yet
we still fall off.
Why is this one better?
Who has the authority?
Doctors are not infallible.
Yet, science is a better bet
than emotions that often times get us into trouble.
Brittle.
Blocky.
Ridged.
Weak.
Good thing these won’t be needed to build a house.
The snow has come.
White stuff covers the ground.
Hats and jackets still tucked away.
Boots for the weather found basement unbound.
Now time to enjoy the season
with a cup of hot chocolate
and blanket watching it fall outside the window.
Life outdoors
with wildlife everywhere.
Weather warm and sunny.
Unless you are in Alberta
then it might be snowing
halfway through the day.
In June!
