Good Deeds

Driving a neighbour to the hospital.

Preparing a lasagna for an elderly friend.

Knitting dishcloths to give away randomly.

Smiling kindly at a stranger.

Telling someone you love their colourful socks.

Offering a hug to the one who needs it most.

Cedar

The memory of campfire

Watching the fire blaze

Smelling the cooking hotdogs

Or roasted to blackness marshmallows.

The underlying smell of the woods surrounding us.

Pine, maple, birch and the elusive yet pungent scent of cedar.

To this day it reminds me of my youth

And the simpler times when I had no responsibilities.

Broken Lasagna

Nothing beats noodles layered

with tomato sauced meat

flavoured with oregano

and mixed with onions and garlic.

Yet when the dish slips

and falls to the floor

supper is still needed

so broken up lasagna noodles

are added to the remaining meat sauce

allowed to simmer

and then we eat.

After I clean up the first mess.

Pride of the Month

Moths are just as beautiful as butterflies.

Dandelions are pretty just like roses.

Salad with dressing is also healthy.

A cat can be just as friendly as a dog.

No one needs to be seen as less worthwhile.

You are wonderful just like you are

and no one deserves to respect themselves more!
