Tree

The oak has a thick barrel trunk

while the willow bends and twists.

The birch grows thin and tall

while the laurel is sacred.

A rowan is the tree of life

while the elder holds its sway.

The cedar versus the pine

which one will nor go away?

Each resistant to the day to day.

The winds try to bring them down.

A tree is nature’s way

of saying I am here to stay.
